Ramallah – Wednesday, April 29, 2026 – The Palestinian National Commission for Education, Culture and Science called on young people and creatives in Palestine today to participate in the second edition of the UNESCO Chair for World Heritage Management and Sustainable Tourism in the Arab Region photography and short film competition, themed “A Trace in the Neighborhood.”
The National Commission explained that this competition is part of its efforts to support youth creativity and raise awareness of the importance of cultural heritage within the “Arab Youth for Heritage” initiative. It utilizes photography and film as tools to tell stories related to place, identity, and collective memory, and to highlight the role of heritage in daily life.
The Commission emphasized that the competition aims to encourage participants to produce high-quality works that reflect the dynamic relationship between people and heritage, and contribute to reinterpreting heritage sites as vibrant spaces rather than mere static landmarks, thereby promoting the concepts of sustainable tourism and cultural development.
The committee noted that this initiative falls within its efforts to empower youth and engage them in protecting and preserving tangible and intangible heritage, as well as supporting innovation in visual storytelling, thus opening new horizons for creative expression and strengthening the presence of culture in society.
The committee invited those interested in participating to review the competition details and requirements via the following link:
